Battlefield 6 Leak Reveals Nine New Game Modes in Development

Dataminers have discovered nine new multiplayer game modes hidden within Battlefield 6 files. The leak, reported by Insider Gaming on X, suggests that EA and Battlefield Studios have several unannounced match types in development.

Nine Unannounced Modes Found

Before Season One began, six new modes were spotted in the game’s files. Two of them, Sabotage and Strikepoint, were later confirmed for the first season. The remaining four, Raid, Payload, Squad Shootout, and Tank Hunt, have yet to be officially revealed.

Now, dataminers have found five more modes labelled as “Prototypes”. These include Convoy, Fantastic Four, Gunmaster, Touchdown, and Tug of War. Together, the total of unused and unannounced modes reaches nine.

Battlefield 6 Prototypes Still in Early Development

The five new modes are marked as early-stage prototypes, meaning they may take time before appearing in the game. Developers don’t seem in a hurry, as Battlefield 6 already has 11 multiplayer modes, including Sabotage and Ice Lock, both planned for later this season.

Although details remain scarce, the names hint at possible gameplay styles. Gunmaster could work like Call of Duty’s “Gun Game” or Valorant’s “Escalation”, where players switch weapons after each kill. Tug of War might feature teams pushing to control objectives in a back-and-forth battle.

When to Expect the New Content

There’s no confirmed release date for these new modes. Since the final phase of Battlefield 6 Season 1 roadmap begins in December, it’s possible that the new match types won’t appear until 2026.

EA’s latest FPS has had a mixed start since launch, balancing player feedback and patches. Despite its ups and downs, Battlefield 6 continues to evolve. With nine new game modes potentially on the horizon, it seems the developers are far from done expanding the game’s multiplayer experience.
