Battlefield 6 has officially taken the crown. As of today, Electronic Arts’ latest shooter is the best-selling game of 2025 in the United States. This massive achievement comes just over a month after its release, signalling a historic comeback for the franchise.
The game launched on October 10 for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. Within days, it became clear this was a monster hit. Now, new market data confirms its dominance.
Circana Senior Director Mat Piscatella shared new insights yesterday, November 20. His data reveals that Battlefield 6 didn’t just top the charts for October; it debuted directly at the top of the year-to-date best-sellers list.
Consequently, it pushed heavy hitters like NBA 2K26 and Monster Hunter Wilds down the rankings. For the month of October specifically, Battlefield 6 beat out Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Sony’s Ghost of Yotei.
Circana ranks these titles by dollar revenue rather than total units sold. The data includes both physical and digital sales across most major platforms.
| Rank | Game | Publisher | Release Date |
| 1 | Battlefield 6 | Electronic Arts | Oct 10, 2025 |
| 2 | NBA 2K26 | Take-Two Interactive | Sep 5, 2025 |
| 3 | Monster Hunter Wilds | Capcom | Feb 28, 2025 |
| 4 | Borderlands 4 | Take-Two Interactive | Sep 12, 2025 |
| 5 | EA Sports College Football 26 | Electronic Arts | Jul 10, 2025 |
| 6 | TES 4: Oblivion Remastered | Bethesda Softworks | Apr 22, 2025 |
| 7 | Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 | Activision | Oct 25, 2024 |
| 8 | Madden NFL 26 | Electronic Arts | Aug 14, 2025 |
| 9 | MLB: The Show 25* | Sony / MLB Advanced Media | Mar 18, 2025 |
| 10 | Ghost of Yotei | Sony | Oct 2, 2025 |
Note: ‘MLB: The Show 25’ rankings exclude digital sales from Xbox and Nintendo.
Interestingly, not a single original IP appears in the 2025 top 10. This underscores the massive power of established franchises this year. For comparison, 2024 saw only one original game, Elden Ring, make the yearly cut.
EA recently claimed this was the biggest launch in the history of the franchise. The numbers back them up. Battlefield 6 sold over 7 million copies in its first three days alone.
To put that in perspective, Battlefield 6 achieved in 72 hours what Battlefield 5 took two months to accomplish. In fact, these three-day sales exceed the entire first-week totals of any previous instalment in the series’ history.
| Game | Launch Sales |
| Battlefield 2 (2005) | 1.2m (Month 1) |
| Bad Company 2 (2010) | 1.39m (Week 1) |
| Battlefield 3 (2011) | 4.68m (Week 1) |
| Battlefield 4 (2013) | 2.59m (Week 1) |
| Battlefield 1 (2016) | 3.46m (Week 1) |
| Battlefield 5 (2018) | 7.3m (First 2 Months) |
| Battlefield 2042 (2021) | 4.23m (Week 1) |
| Battlefield 6 (2025) | 7m (First 3 Days) |
Perhaps the most shocking statistic is its comparison to Battlefield 1. That 2016 title was the previous best-seller in the series, with roughly 21 million lifetime units sold by late 2023. According to Circana, October sales of Battlefield 6 alone have already surpassed the lifetime sales of Battlefield 1.
Currently, the shooter is pulling “Call of Duty-level numbers”. While the newly released Black Ops 7 is expected to join the top 10 soon, analysts believe Battlefield 6 has a realistic chance of holding onto the #1 spot through the end of the year.
