Bug alert! WhatsApp’s latest update is deleting media files by itself

WhatsApp new update is causing media files to vanish by themselves. Many WhatsApp users on Android reported the issue saying not to update the app for now as it contains a major bug in it. According to the recent reports the bug is present in WhatsApp version 2.19.66, and the user reporting it appears to be using the beta version of this app.

The beta users after downloading this version of WhatsApp are continuously reporting this issue on their Twitter accounts. After downloading the update the media files from the apps disappear, either it’s a group chat or a private conversation.

The only relief in this situation is that you can still find those photos or videos in your gallery. If you have activated the save photos option.

Several other users have mentioned that in the latest update, WhatsApp Status feature is buggy as well. They say the display picture in the status window is appearing in a grey form. Some also say that their contacts are either blocked or appearing black when opened. Similarly, many users encountered a different type of problem where they were unable to send messages or make calls through WhatsApp after updating the app.

In the meantime, WhatsApp has prompted its user not to update their app for the time being and also that they are working to fix the bug and will release another update soon.

WhatsApp keeps on introducing new features to help the experience seamless for its users. It recently introduced a new feature on iOS, through which users are able to lock their WhatsApp using Face ID or a passcode. This feature helps users to protect WhatsApp chats in case someone else is using their phone for their own specific reason. As for Android users, this feature will arrive soon for them as well.
