BusCaro Claims No Investment Ties with Sarmayacar

BusCaro, a mobility startup in Pakistan, has publicly claimed that Sarmayacar was never an investor in the company, reiterating its independent growth trajectory with backing from other global partners.
In a recent statement, Maha Shahzad, Founder and CEO of BusCaro, addressed circulating rumors, claiming that at no point was Sarmayacar an investor in BusCaro. She emphasized there has never been any professional association between BusCaro and Sarmayacar or its leadership.
BusCaro, established in 2022, provides commuters across Pakistan with secure, reliable vehicles tailored to meet daily travel needs. The startup quickly rose in the mobility sector by focusing on safety, convenience, and accessibility for everyday riders.
In the first quarter of 2025, BusCaro secured a key investment from Epic Angels, a global network of female executives and operators. This partnership was a major milestone for the startup’s mission to revolutionize transportation in Pakistan.
Expressing her gratitude, Maha Shahzad noted, “When we were first connected with Epic Angels, I looked up Maaike (the founder) on LinkedIn and her profile said ‘gets sh*t done.’ She’s not kidding – that sums up the Epic Angels motto. They’re quick, transparent and don’t waste a founder’s time. They’re always there to support but are never trying to run your business for you. These are amazing women we’re very proud to have in our corner.”
