Elon Musk Announces Grok 3 Launch Set For Monday

Elon Musk announced Grok 3, an AI chatbot created by his AI startup xAI, a few days ago. Late on Saturday, Musk confirmed the release date: Monday, February 17.

According to Reuters, the tech billionaire announced not only the straightforward debut of Grok 3 but also a live demo scheduled for 8:00 pm (Pacific time) on February 17, so AI enthusiasts won’t be disappointed.

Musk earlier this week indicated that Grok 3 was in its last stages of development, suggesting that the AI tool will likely be unveiled in the next week or two.

“Grok 3 has very powerful reasoning capabilities, so in the tests that we’ve done thus far, Grok 3 is outperforming anything that’s been released, that we’re aware of, so that’s a good sign,” he added, addressing the World Governments Summit in Dubai via video call.

Musk, one of the world’s few extremely wealthy tech magnates, has been in the news recently due to his $97.4 billion offer to buy OpenAI.

Rumour has it that Musk and a small group of investors tried to acquire ChatGPT from its creators, even though OpenAI, the artificial intelligence company he cofounded with Sam Altman, has officially and unanimously turned down his offer.

On the contrary, OpenAI’s board of directors stated on Wednesday that the Musk-led offer was not officially relayed to them, but was instead sent by email as a four-page letter of intent, as alleged by Musk’s lawyer.
