The science and technology minister in a Twitter post said that that he invites both Mufti Muhammad Muneeb-ur-Rehman and Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai to see ‘how moon cycle works’ and experience how easy science has made to calculate the starting of Ramadan and moon sighting which for sure does not require non-essential efforts and money for such a simple task. He remarked that science has made it quite easy to understand moon phases and unwanted preparations in this regard are time wastage.

Fawad Ch, a couple of weeks ago, proposed a way to sight the moon with the help of science and technology and claimed that unnecessary expenditures and controversies will be averted once a ten-year moon calendar is created when a spar between Science Minister and Islamic clerics started.

At that time, Fawad Ch had announced that a 5-member committee has been constituted to finalize the calendar to indicate the exact dates of Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Azha, and Moharram for the next five years with 100% accuracy. As of now, it appears that the ambitious minister may fulfill his dream very soon.
