FBR is planning to launch a mobile app to help tax filers

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is reportedly working on a mobile application to help citizens easily file their tax returns.

The mobile app will be simple to use and will be geared towards making the process of filing tax returns much easier. FBR will also be taking steps to ensure that citizen data from different portals such as NADRA, Excise and Taxation department, utility companies such as LESCO and WAPDA, and Land Registration Authorities is aggregated with that of FBR.

This will help in creating a complete 360-degree profile of a taxpayer, making the process of identifying potential defaulters much more efficient.

FBR is also planning to focus more on mapping big businesses and real estate transactions to identify potential defaulters. With a proper check on big hospitals, schools, and individuals in entertainment sector, FBR is trying to include more and more people into the tax net
