Pakistan Railways has announced four special trains to help manage the expected rush of passengers across the country. The additional services will run on major routes and are aimed at making travel easier for people heading back to their hometowns for the holiday.
According to a spokesperson for Pakistan Railways, the special trains will operate between key cities in the days leading up to Eid. The initiative is intended to accommodate the sharp rise in passenger traffic that typically occurs before the festival.
The first special train will depart from Lahore for Karachi on March 16. Along the way, it will stop at Okara, Sahiwal and Khanewal to pick up passengers.
The second train is scheduled to leave Quetta for Rawalpindi on March 17. It will pass through several cities including Sukkur, Rahim Yar Khan, Khanewal and Lahore before reaching its final destination.
On the same day, a third special train will run from Karachi to Peshawar, providing another option for travelers heading toward Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The fourth and final train will depart from Karachi for Lahore on March 18, connecting two of the country’s busiest railway hubs.
