Geely’s Radar RD6 Electric Pickup Set to Hit Pakistani Roads

Capital Smart Motors (CSM), a subsidiary of Habib Rafiq Engineering, is all set to introduce the Radar RD6, an all-electric pickup truck, into the Pakistani automotive market. This move signals the official entry of Radar Auto, an electric utility vehicle brand under China’s Geely Auto Group, into Pakistan.

Strategic Partnership Sealed with Geely

This development follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between CSM and Geely, paving the way for the local introduction of several electric vehicle (EV) brands. Apart from Radar, CSM also plans to bring in Zeekr, Geely’s premium EV brand, and Farizon, which focuses on commercial electric vehicles. Though the exact launch timelines remain undisclosed, the agreement marks a strategic milestone in Pakistan’s EV landscape.

Radar RD6: Features and Global Specs

Currently available in international markets, the Radar RD6 offers both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. It delivers an estimated range of 373 km to 455 km as per China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC) standards. The global versions highlight strong performance attributes such as fast acceleration and high payload capacity, although localized specifications for the Pakistani market have not yet been shared.

Radar Auto operates under Radar New Energy Automobile (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd., part of Geely Auto Group. Geely’s parent company, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, also owns globally recognized automotive brands including Volvo, Lotus, Lynk & Co, and Zeekr.

Leveraging its smart city projects like Capital Smart City and Lahore Smart City, CSM intends to create an ecosystem that supports EV growth. The company has consistently emphasized integrating electric mobility into urban planning and infrastructure, aiming to ease the transition to clean transportation in Pakistan.
