Gold prices in Pakistan continued their upward trend on Wednesday, recording a seventh consecutive increase following another rise in international gold prices.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold increased by Rs. 4,200 per tola, reaching Rs. 463,936 per tola.
The price of 10-gram gold also climbed by Rs. 3,601 to reach Rs. 397,750.
Gold has gained significantly since August 5. During this period, the per-tola price has increased by Rs. 36,000, highlighting the strong upward momentum in the local bullion market.
On Tuesday, gold had already risen by Rs. 2,400, reaching Rs. 459,736 per tola.
Gold prices also strengthened in the international market, where the precious metal gained $42 per ounce, reaching $4,415 per ounce.
The rise in international prices has continued to put upward pressure on domestic gold rates.
Silver prices also recorded an increase on Wednesday. The price of silver rose by Rs. 146 per tola, reaching Rs. 7,111 per tola.
The latest increase extends the recent rally in Pakistan’s precious metals market, with both gold and silver prices moving higher amid gains in international bullion prices.
