Google Wallet Now Available in Pakistan: Here’s How To Use It & Supported Banks

Google Wallet Now In Pakistan Secure Seamless Transactions

KARACHI: Google has officially launched Google Wallet in Pakistan, offering a secure and convenient way to manage digital payments, loyalty cards, and travel essentials—all in one place.




With Google Wallet, users can now tap and pay at stores, make seamless online transactions, and securely store boarding passes on their Android devices. This launch is a major step toward enhancing digital payment solutions in Pakistan, providing users with a safe, simple, and efficient way to manage their financial and travel needs.

Farhan Qureshi, Country Director for Google Pakistan, emphasized the impact of this launch, stating:




“Pakistan’s digital payments landscape is evolving rapidly, and with more people embracing digital transactions, Google Wallet provides a secure, seamless, and efficient way to make payments, shop, and travel. This milestone reinforces Google’s unwavering commitment to Pakistan’s digital future and financial inclusion.”

Supported Banks and Digital Wallets

Starting today, users can add their payment cards to Google Wallet and use them for contactless payments at any merchant accepting Google Pay.

Currently supported banks:

  • Bank AlFalah (Visa and Mastercard debit/credit cards)
  • Bank of Punjab (Mastercard credit cards)
  • Faysal Bank Noor (Mastercard debit cards)
  • HBL (Visa and Mastercard debit/credit cards)
  • JazzCash (Mastercard debit cards)
  • Meezan Bank (Visa and Mastercard debit cards)
  • UBL (Visa and Mastercard debit cards)

Coming soon:

  • Allied Bank (Visa debit cards)
  • Easypaisa Digital Bank (Visa debit cards)
  • JS Bank (Visa credit cards and Mastercard debit cards)
  • Zindigi (Visa debit/credit cards and Mastercard debit cards)

With Google Wallet, these users can enjoy the convenience of paying both in-store and online wherever Google Pay is accepted.

In addition to payments, Google Wallet is expanding its integration into Pakistan’s digital shopping ecosystem.

Soon, leading online merchants such as Onic, Gul Ahmed, Sana Safinaz, J., and Karachi Electric (KE) will integrate with PayFast, allowing users to complete purchases seamlessly using Google Pay. Businesses using Safepay’s platform will also provide customers with a faster and more secure payment experience.

Travel Made Easier with Google Wallet

Google Wallet isn’t just for payments it’s a travel companion too. Users can now add boarding passes from Batik Air and Thai Airways directly to their Wallets. In addition, passengers booking through Bookme.pk and Sastaticket.pk can store their tickets digitally, making travel check-ins and updates hassle-free.

Once a boarding pass is added, travelers will receive real-time notifications regarding departure time and gate changes, ensuring a smooth journey. Additionally, international travelers can use Google Wallet to make secure transactions abroad without carrying physical cards.

How to Set Up Google Wallet?

Setting up Google Wallet is simple:

  1. Download Google Wallet from the Google Play Store.
  2. If you already have an eligible card saved to your Google account, it will appear automatically.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up contactless payments.
  4. To add a new card, tap “Add a card”, review and accept the issuer’s terms, and complete the verification process.
  5. Your card will be tokenized and ready to use.

Adding boarding passes and tickets is just as easy. After purchasing a flight ticket from Thai Airways, for example, users will see an “Add to Google Wallet” option to instantly create a digital version of the boarding pass.

Similarly, Bookme.pk and Sastaticket.pk users can add bus, train, and event tickets to their Wallets for quick access.

Google Wallet provides a one-stop storage solution for users with multiple membership or loyalty cards. If Gmail settings allow, Google Wallet can automatically import loyalty cards. Users can also manually add their cards, including the Naheed Loyalty Card, to easily access rewards and benefits from their Android devices.

Enhanced Security and Privacy

Security remains a top priority for Google Wallet.

  • Tokenization Technology: When making a payment, Google Wallet generates a unique device-specific token along with a dynamic security code to keep transactions safe.
  • Bank Verification: Before adding a card, banks require verification to prevent unauthorized use.
  • Screen Lock Protection: Ensures only the device owner can access the Wallet.
  • Find My Device Feature: If a phone is lost or stolen, users can lock it remotely, set a new password, or erase personal data via Find My Device.
  • Privacy Controls: Users can manage their settings at myactivity.google.com/product/wallet to control what information is stored and accessed.
