Google is taking a major step toward bridging the gap between Android and iOS. The company has confirmed that Quick Share, its answer to Apple’s AirDrop, now works across both platforms. The feature finally lets users move files between iPhones and Android devices, although there is one important limitation.
For now, the cross-platform option only works on the Pixel 10 series. Google has not said when it will reach older Pixels or other Android phones. The company is expected to expand support, but it is keeping the feature exclusive to its newest lineup.
Sharing files works the same way it does within each ecosystem. Pixel 10 owners can open Quick Share and select an Apple device in range. iPhone users can do the same when sending something back. Google says the process should remain simple and stable on both sides.
The move signals a rare moment of cooperation between Google and Apple. It also shows Google’s push to streamline basic tasks across platforms. The update could become a big quality-of-life improvement once it rolls out to more Android phones.
