The government has announced that February 5 will remain a public holiday in observance of Kashmir Day, a day dedicated to expressing solidarity with the people of Indian-administered Kashmir.
According to the official notification, all public and private offices across the country will remain closed on the day. In addition, the government has called for a one-minute silence at 10:00 am nationwide to honor the Kashmiri martyrs who have sacrificed their lives in the ongoing conflict.
Kashmir Day, observed annually on February 5, is a longstanding tradition in Pakistan, aimed at raising awareness about the ongoing struggles and human rights issues faced by the Kashmiri people. Across the country, the day is observed with flag-raising ceremonies and speeches highlighting the importance of Kashmir in Pakistan’s foreign policy and humanitarian discourse.
