ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced a sharp increase in petroleum prices following a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif effective April 2, 2026.
As per the decision, petrol prices have been increased by PKR 136 per litre, while diesel has seen a steep hike of PKR 183 per litre. The revised prices will come into effect from midnight. Latest petrol price will be Rs 458.40 and Diesel price as Rs 520.35.
The announcement was made during a joint press conference by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik, where the government outlined the rationale behind the move.
