The federal government has assured exporters that newly established Export Facilitation Committees will help resolve tax disputes and protect businesses from unnecessary harassment by tax officials.
Minister of State for Finance and Railways Bilal Azhar Kayani shared the details during a meeting with representatives of Pakistan’s exporters in Karachi on Friday.
Kayani briefed the exporters on tax policies and relief measures introduced under the latest federal budget. He also listened to concerns raised by the business community and discussed possible measures to address tax-related issues.
The minister said the Export Facilitation Committees have been established to address exporters’ complaints, facilitate export activities and provide a mechanism for resolving disputes without unnecessary friction between businesses and tax authorities.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting export-led industrial growth, adding that exporters would continue to have access to policymakers to raise operational and tax-related concerns.
Representatives of the export sector welcomed the government’s engagement and presented recommendations for improving the tax framework and strengthening Pakistan’s export performance.
The government expects the new facilitation mechanism to improve coordination between exporters and tax authorities while supporting the country’s efforts to increase exports.
