The federal government has convened a meeting of the federal cabinet on June 10 to approve the Federal Budget for fiscal year 2026-27, according to official sources.
During the meeting, the cabinet is expected to review and approve key budget documents ahead of the budget’s formal presentation in Parliament. Officials said the session will play a vital role in finalizing major fiscal proposals for the upcoming financial year.
A final decision regarding a potential increase in salaries and benefits for government employees is also likely to be taken during the cabinet meeting, sources added.
The meeting will be held at Parliament House before the National Assembly’s budget session. The government is currently working on completing budget preparations, including taxation measures, development allocations, and relief proposals.
The upcoming budget is being closely watched by businesses, investors, and government employees as it is expected to outline Pakistan’s economic priorities and fiscal strategy for FY2026-27.
