Rockstar just delivered a massive 27-minute gameplay showcase as GTA 6: An Extended Look on Netflix. Specifically, the gameplay showcase premiered exclusively on Netflix for a six-hour window. Afterward, the footage arrived on YouTube. For fans without a Netflix subscription, Rockstar also released a shorter teaser trailer. Consequently, this Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6 gameplay showcase delivered pure gameplay and story cutscenes, including backyard wrestling and basketball, that completely bypassed the recent wave of leaks.
Deeply Interactive Interiors & RDR2 Combat
Next, the footage highlighted highly detailed indoor environments. For instance, the showcase explored the relationship dynamic between protagonists Jason and Lucia inside her apartment. The environment is extremely interactive. Jason actually opens the refrigerator and selects from different drink options. Furthermore, the classic in-universe television returns. It actively broadcasts parodies of popular commercial products.
Moreover, combat receives a familiar upgrade. The beloved slow-motion, cinematic kill cameras from Red Dead Redemption 2 return in the new game. The gameplay demonstrated this feature by showing Jason scoring a brutal shotgun headshot on a police officer. Meanwhile, Vice City remains incredibly chaotic. Players will encounter bizarre NPCs everywhere. These include a TikToker who falls from a bridge during a drive-by and the infamous “hammer lady” from the original reveal trailer.
GTA 6 Story Missions & Backyard Wrestling
Additionally, players can expect a diverse range of intense missions. The showcase immediately revealed a drug deal gone wrong. Jason and Lucia attempt a pick-up for a new NPC named Boobie Ike. However, the police suddenly raid the drug den. As a result, the duo must battle their way through the twisting hallways of an apartment complex. Later, the pair work as getaway drivers for a known bank robber named Raul Bautista. They do this specifically to earn his trust. Finally, another mission tasks them with providing armed security for real estate mogul Andreas DeLeon. During this segment, they stop an attempted heist at a high-profile party.
Beyond the main story, Vice City offers plenty of side activities. Players can ride jet skis across the water. More importantly, the gameplay revealed a new backyard wrestling minigame. This activity closely resembles the Underground Cage Fighting from ‘GTA 4: The Ballad of Gay Tony’. Ultimately, this extended look proves that Vice City still holds plenty of surprises.
