Rockstar Games has officially delayed GTA VI to November 19, 2026. The announcement came through both the Rockstar Newswire and an official post on X, where the studio apologised for the extended wait.
In its announcement, Rockstar said the extra time will help the studio finish the game with the level of polish players expect and deserve.
The studio said:
We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.
Rockstar also thanked fans for their patience and support, expressing excitement for players to experience the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to modern-day Vice City.
The delay quickly went viral on social media. Fans expressed a mix of disappointment and understanding over the long-awaited title’s new release date.

Although the delay pushes GTA VI further into 2026, Rockstar assured fans that the extra time will ensure the game meets its signature high standards. For now, fans will have to wait a little longer to return to Vice City, but expectations remain sky-high.
