Gta Vi Release Date Locked Rumours Point To 80 Price Tag

Grand Theft Auto (GTA) VI fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief. After a turbulent production cycle, fears of a third delay are reportedly fading. However, players might need to prepare their wallets for a steeper price tag.

No More Delays?

Rockstar Games appears confident in its current timeline. The highly anticipated title has already seen two significant shifts since its original announcement in December 2023. Initially slated for a broad 2025 window, the game was delayed to May 2026 last year. A second delay in November pushed the release back further to November 19, 2026.

Despite anxious rumours of a third setback, recent reports suggest the date will hold. Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming, a reliable source in the industry, addressed these concerns recently.

Henderson stated:

I think Rockstar are confident enough now that it will release this year.

He further noted that the launch will be massive. In fact, Henderson predicts the influx of players will cause “temporary issues with internet infrastructure”.

The $80 Price Tag Rumour Surrounding GTA VI

While the release date news is positive, the pricing rumours are controversial. Henderson predicts the base version of GTA VI will cost $80. This marks a significant step up from the current $70 industry standard.

Furthermore, Henderson’s co-host, Mike Straw, anticipates even pricier options. Straw predicts premium editions could cost $100 and $130, with a massive Collector’s Edition potentially reaching $300.

Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed these prices yet. Fans will likely have to wait until summer for official details.

Fans React to “AAAA” Pricing

The potential price hike has sparked a debate within the community. Some fans on Reddit argue that charging more than the standard is an “unnecessary risk” because the game is guaranteed to sell record numbers regardless.

Conversely, others believe the price is inevitable. Supporters point to titles like Mario Kart World, which was priced at $80 and sold incredibly well. Arguing that the status of GTA VI as the industry’s first “AAAA” game justifies the cost, one user noted:

GTA VI has the influence and hype to set a future $80 precedence.

Regardless of the price, the hype remains undeniable. If reports hold true, the wait ends this November.
