The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced a major increase in the monthly salaries of university professors working under the tenure track system across Pakistan.
Under the revised policy, professors will receive salaries ranging from Rs. 402,000 to Rs. 712,000 per month. Associate professors will be eligible for salaries between Rs. 370,000 and Rs. 625,000, while assistant professors will receive between Rs. 288,000 and Rs. 553,000 per month.
The revised salaries will be applicable from July 1, according to the HEC. Universities will be responsible for paying the salaries to faculty members from their own financial resources.
