A Unique Launch Strategy for Highguard
Strangely, the showcase falls on the exact day the game launches to the public. Consequently, fans speculate a “shadow drop” release. The game could launch immediately after the showcase ends.
This strategy mirrors the launch of Apex Legends. This makes sense, as Wildlight Entertainment features former developers from Titanfall and Apex Legends. The studio went dark after The Game Awards 2025 reveal. Now, they are ready to show the world what they have built.

Gameplay Mechanics & Leaks
Highguard is a “raid shooter”. Teams compete to destroy the opposing base first. Players utilise weapons, abilities, and even mounts like horses to traverse the map. Crucially, players battle to claim the “Shieldbreaker sword”. This item summons a battering ram to invade the enemy base.
Recent trophy leaks revealed further details. The game seemingly features five distinct classes. Furthermore, a unique weapon called the “BigRig LMG” spawns mid-match. This weapon destroys “iron walls” and offers a major tactical advantage.
Fortunately, Highguard is completely free-to-play. If the showcase impresses, players can jump in with zero barriers this Monday.
