Honor Magic V6 Unveiled with Next-Level Hardware and Sleek Design

Published by

At MWC 2026, Honor pulled the wraps off its most ambitious foldable yet, the Magic V6. This device is not just another refresh. It marks a first for the category with both IP68 and IP69 ratings, setting a new bar for durability in foldable phones. At the same time, Honor packs in flagship hardware, including the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, a triple-camera system with a 3x optical zoom periscope, and a larger 6,660mAh silicon-carbon battery.

Durability stands at the center of this launch. Honor introduces a new Super Steel Hinge, built from what it calls the strongest commercially available steel. The company says its internal labs tested the hinge for up to 500,000 folds and unfolds. As a result, the Magic V6 aims to handle daily stress better than its predecessors.

Despite the added toughness, the phone stays impressively slim. When folded, it measures 8.75mm, which matches the thickness of the iPhone 17 Pro Max. However, it weighs less at 219 grams for the white model. Once opened, the Magic V6 stretches out to just 4mm thin, making it one of the slimmest foldables available.

The main display measures 7.95 inches and uses an LTPO 2.0 AMOLED panel. It offers a 2,172 x 2,352 resolution and a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate. Honor also reinforces the screen with ultra-thin glass and reduces crease depth by 44%. Because of this change, the fold line should appear less visible than before. In addition, a new anti-reflection layer improves readability. Peak local brightness now reaches up to 5,000 nits.

On the outside, the 6.52-inch cover screen mirrors many of these features. It also supports a 1-120Hz LTPO 2.0 refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. Even more, it pushes peak local brightness to 6,000 nits. Both displays support stylus input, and each includes a 20MP selfie camera.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 powers the device. Honor pairs it with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. That combination places the Magic V6 firmly in flagship territory.

Around the back, the camera setup remains familiar but refined. A 50MP main sensor with an f/1.6 aperture and OIS leads the system. It works alongside a 64MP periscope telephoto lens with a 70mm equivalent focal length and a 1/2” sensor, delivering 3x optical zoom. The third camera is a 50MP ultrawide, rounding out a versatile trio.

On the software side, the Magic V6 runs MagicOS 10 based on Android 16. Honor promises 7 major Android upgrades, which signals long-term support. Furthermore, the company expands its cross-platform features with Apple devices. Honor Connect now enables two-way notification syncing between the Magic V6 and iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. Mac users can share files easily and even use the main screen as a second display.

Battery life should also see a boost. The 6,660mAh silicon carbon battery contains 25% silicon and reaches an energy density of 921Wh/L. The phone supports 80W wired charging and 66W wireless charging. It also offers reverse wireless charging for other devices.

Honor will offer the Magic V6 in Red, Gold, White, and Black. However, the company has not yet shared pricing or availability details. For now, the Magic V6 positions itself as a bold step forward for foldables, blending strength, slim design, and serious flagship specs into a single device.
