Huawei holds IT Roadshow & demonstrates latest cloud technology for Pakistani businesses

Huawei is considered one of the frontrunners of technology in China, along with Lenovo and Xiaomi. Like Lenovo, Huawei has been consistently trying to expand its global network and Pakistan is one of the countries which has gained the company’s focus. Not only has it been releasing really good Android smartphones, it is also starting to rival Samsung in terms of the really glamorous media-frenzy phone launch events. The Chinese company just arranged a potentially big and successful IT Roadshow in the capital city of Pakistan.

Huawei’s IT Roadshow started on July 27th and ended on August, 5th 2015. The event was attended by over 1000 customers from all the major cities of Pakistan, including several attendees from the leading telecommunication and IT companies. The purpose of the roadshow was to raise awareness of how organisations in Pakistan can benefit from advancements in cloud-based IT solutions over the coming five years.

The show was instrumental in giving the attendees a first-hand experience of the latest technologies and innovations of data centers, storage, virtual servers, virtual desktops and also a wide range of vertical industry solutions. Huawei enhanced this experience by providing access to its functional Huawei Data Center operating in a live environment inside the demo container.

Huawei has not only been manufacturing good quality smartphones but since 2011 they have also been providing data center and cloud computing solutions as well. They have their own Container Data Center which is different from all the conventional ones. Traditional data centers suffer from long construction periods, high energy consumption and high initial investment. Huawei’s CloudPower IDS1000 container data center (present at the roadshow) has a highly integrated power supply and distribution system, environmental monitoring, cooling systems, racks, cabling, fire control, security and other infrastructure facilities, all packaged in a standard shipping container.

Speaking at the event, CEO of Huawei Pakistan, Mr. Aragon Meng, said:

“Pakistan is at a crossroads of development. With abundant human resources and an understanding of cutting-edge technology, it is evident that Pakistan’s ICT market will continue to expand and contribute to the overall development of society.”

He further added, “In building a better connected Pakistan, it is Huawei’s aim to help make IT simple and make business agile. We pledge to help governments, corporates, and telcos to better understand the challenges they face, the market needs, and to position their cloud offerings in a way that monetizes huge amounts of digital information for extending their competitive advantage.”
