Uzbekistan’s Centrum Air has launched regular direct flights between Tashkent and Karachi, strengthening air connectivity between Pakistan and Uzbekistan and creating new opportunities for tourism, trade and business.
The airline’s first flight from Tashkent arrived at Karachi Airport at 4:20 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, carrying passengers aboard an Airbus A320. Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Alisher Tukhtaev, was present at the airport to receive the inaugural flight.
The aircraft was welcomed with a traditional water-cannon salute, followed by a ceremony attended by representatives of the Sindh government, local authorities, diplomatic missions, the Sindh Tourism Development Corporation, airlines, tour operators and the media.
Officials from the Sindh government welcomed the new route, saying improved air connectivity could help increase tourist arrivals and strengthen business-to-business and economic ties between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
The new direct service is expected to make travel more convenient for businessmen, investors, tourists, students and families. It will also provide Pakistani travelers with easier access to Uzbekistan and other destinations across Central Asia.
With the launch of the Tashkent-Karachi route, the number of direct flights between Pakistan and Uzbekistan has increased to eight per week, further improving connectivity between the two countries.
Centrum Air had previously launched direct flights between Lahore and Tashkent in April 2026, with the route operating twice a week.
The latest service is expected to support greater people-to-people contact while contributing to tourism, trade, investment and broader economic cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
