Apple’s upcoming iOS 19 is generating significant buzz, thanks to a series of leaks revealing the potential design changes and features. A recent video by Jon Prosser, based on internal builds, has unveiled some exciting updates that are likely to transform the user interface for iPhones.
Redesigned App Icons
The most notable change is the redesign of app icons. While not fully circular, the icons are set to become more rounded, offering a fresh look compared to the current squircle design. A subtle animation will allow users to switch between shapes with a long press. The design inspiration seems to come from Apple’s visionOS, offering a glassy, translucent aesthetic across the system.

In addition to the icon updates, iOS 19 is expected to feature a floating tab bar, which will appear in core apps like Music, App Store, and Messages. Prosser’s video also hints at subtle movements, like a shimmering effect on the Flashlight and Camera buttons, adding a touch of depth and interactivity. This attention to detail aligns with Apple’s ambition to refine the iOS experience with more depth, shadows, and visual appeal.
While none of these changes have been officially confirmed by Apple, the leaks suggest that iOS 19 will be one of the most significant visual overhauls in recent years.
