iPhone 17e Set to Receive Major Selfie Camera Upgrade

Apple is set to bring a notable camera upgrade to its upcoming iPhone 17e, according to analyst Jeff Pu. The new model will feature an 18MP selfie camera, matching the rest of the iPhone 17 lineup.

Introduced earlier with the iPhone 17 series, the camera’s inclusion in the more affordable 17e is both surprising and welcome. Apple rarely extends high-end features to its entry-level models so quickly.

The upgraded camera employs a square sensor, allowing users to capture vertical or horizontal selfies without adjusting the phone. Pu predicts the iPhone 17e will launch in mid-1Q26, which points to February.

Alongside the selfie camera, the iPhone 17e will also include the A19 chip, already used in the iPhone 17.
