Apple’s next flagship is already making headlines. A fresh leak now points to a bigger battery inside the Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max, adding to the growing list of rumors around the iPhone 18 Pro lineup.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max in China will feature a 5,000mAh or larger battery. However, the international version may offer slightly more capacity. The global model is expected to carry a battery between 5,100mAh and 5,200mAh.
Apple will pair the new battery with its upcoming 2nm A20 Pro chipset. As a result, users could see better battery life across daily tasks. The improved chip should boost efficiency and extend screen time.
The battery gap between regions has a clear reason. The China-specific model will include a physical SIM slot. In contrast, most international models will rely only on eSIM. The physical SIM setup takes up internal space, which limits battery size.
For comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro Max shows a similar pattern. The version with a physical SIM slot includes a 4,832mAh battery. Meanwhile, the eSIM-only variant packs a slightly larger 5,088mAh cell.
Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro lineup in September. According to the source, the company may skip the standard iPhone 18 models this year. If true, that would mark a notable shift in Apple’s usual launch strategy.
