iPhone 18 Pro Rumored to Feature Upgraded 24MP Selfie Camera

Published by

Apple’s next iPhone upgrade cycle is starting to take shape, and the front camera is back in focus. A new rumor claims the company will enhance selfie performance on at least some iPhone 18 models, although not across the entire lineup as previously suggested.

Last November, a report said Apple planned to upgrade the selfie camera on every iPhone 18 variant. Now, a new source says the improvement may be exclusive to the Pro models. According to the leak, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will feature a 24MP front camera. That matches the earlier claim about a shift to a 24MP sensor.

If this detail proves correct, users can expect sharper selfies and clearer video calls. The higher resolution should also help in low light. More megapixels often allow better detail and improved image processing. As a result, creators and everyday users may notice a visible jump in quality.

However, the standard iPhone 18 models may not receive this upgrade. A new rumor suggests that Apple may limit the 24MP front camera to the Pro lineup. That would give buyers another reason to choose the higher-end models.

Beyond the camera, Apple may also tweak the design. Reports suggest the iPhone 18 Pro lineup will feature a smaller Dynamic Island. Some Face ID components could move under the display. If that happens, the screen area will look cleaner and more immersive.

Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September this year. The company may also debut the iPhone Fold at the same event. While Apple has not confirmed any details, the leaks point to a meaningful camera and design update for its premium phones.
