Apple’s long-rumored foldable iPhone, reportedly called the iPhone Fold, could arrive as early as next year, though some sources still hint at a 2027 launch. Recent leaks now reveal details about the device’s battery, offering a glimpse into its potential endurance.
According to the report, the iPhone Fold will feature a larger battery than the iPhone 17 Pro Max. While the 17 Pro Max uses a 4,823mAh battery, the eSIM-only version reaches 5,088mAh. In comparison, the foldable iPhone is expected to house a cell between 5,400 and 5,800mAh.
Apple is reportedly testing prototypes with this battery range, suggesting the company is focused on delivering longer-lasting performance. Early iPhone Air prototypes started with a 3,000mAh unit, but the final model included a larger battery. Analysts expect a similar adjustment could happen with the iPhone Fold, possibly pushing capacity closer to 6,000mAh.
The foldable design is said to include a 7.58-inch inner display and a 5.38-inch cover screen. Such a large display setup makes a bigger battery crucial to maintain smooth performance and consistent usage throughout the day.
As Apple continues testing, details may still evolve, but these leaks indicate the company is prioritizing battery life to support the foldable iPhone’s ambitious design.
