Iphone Fold Launch

Apple’s long-rumored foldable iPhone may arrive later than expected, even as anticipation around the device continues to build. The company is widely expected to introduce its first foldable iPhone at a fall launch event next year. However, a new supply chain report suggests early shipments could slip into 2027.

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple’s foldable iPhone project is running behind schedule. In a research note, Kuo said the device is facing early-stage yield problems and several manufacturing hurdles ahead of mass production.

Apple is still expected to unveil the device, often referred to as the iPhone Fold, in the second half of 2026. However, Kuo warned that stable shipments may not begin until 2027. As a result, early availability could remain limited.

Kuo added that supply constraints are likely to persist through the end of 2026. This may happen even if consumer demand stays strong after the announcement. Manufacturing complexity remains a key challenge for Apple’s first foldable design.

Meanwhile, industry watchers believe the iPhone Fold could still play a major role in the market. A separate report suggests the device may help accelerate growth in the global foldable smartphone segment next year.

As for pricing and hardware, expectations are already taking shape. The iPhone Fold is rumored to cost around $2,400 in the US. It is also expected to feature a 5.8-inch cover display and a 7.58-inch inner flexible screen. If the timeline holds, Apple’s entry into foldables may be slow, but its impact could be significant.
