Right Of Way Charges Abolished On Federal Land In Islamabad

Islamabad has increased its M-Tag installation centers from seven to ten after witnessing an extraordinary public rush, with 2,244 tags issued in just 24 hours. The move aims to ease congestion as mandatory vehicle tagging continues across all entry points of the capital.

The expansion comes after long queues formed across the city following enforcement of compulsory M-Tags for all vehicles entering Islamabad. Officials said the growing turnout made it essential to widen the network and improve processing speed.

Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon confirmed the update on his official X account, saying the new facilitation points would help distribute the load more evenly. He advised residents to visit after 6 p.m. to avoid peak-hour crowds, adding that the administration is working to streamline the process as much as possible.

According to city officials, the following locations are currently offering M-Tag installation services: Kachnar Park, Lake View Park, F-9 Park, Islamabad Club, Tarlai Kalan, Chungi No. 26 (Old Toll Plaza), Gulberg Green, Islamabad Excise Office, Motorway M-Tag Booths at M-1 and M-2 entry points, and FWO booths near the old toll plaza.

Authorities have urged citizens to complete their tagging without delay, stressing that the system is now essential for security and monitoring of all vehicles entering the federal capital.
