The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has officially launched a cashless One-Window Directorate in Islamabad, marking a major step toward making the capital a model cashless city. The initiative aligns with the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) push for digital transactions and aims to enhance transparency, convenience, and e-governance.
CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner of Islamabad, Mohammad Ali Randhawa, inaugurated the digital One-Window system at the CDA Facilitation Centre. The event was attended by Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch, DG Building Control, and key representatives from Bank Alfalah, JazzCash, Easypaisa, and Finnect.
Officials provided a detailed briefing on the new system’s procedures, which allow users to make digital payments via QR codes linked to platforms like JazzCash and Easypaisa. Randhawa also tested the service by conducting a digital transaction on-site to evaluate its efficiency.
He stated that the new system will strengthen e-governance, ensuring citizens can make payments easily and securely.
“This initiative will help promote a cashless economy in Islamabad while making transactions more transparent and efficient,” Randhawa said.
CDA has already introduced direct QR code payments in weekly bazaars, with plans to extend the cashless system across major markets, shopping centers, and commercial areas in phases. Additionally, Randhawa announced that all citizen services will soon be consolidated under one roof through the upcoming “Assan Khidmat Markaz,” offering streamlined, professional service delivery.
Under this model, citizens can choose their preferred financial institution for payments, with options including JazzCash, Easypaisa, and other partner banks. The system also features an e-challan facility to simplify transactions and promote Islamabad’s digital transformation.
