Islamabad Police have announced a traffic management plan due to ongoing construction of the Margalla Enclave underpass on Park Road, warning commuters of possible congestion and delays in the area. Motorists have been advised to follow designated diversions and plan travel accordingly.
According to the traffic advisory, vehicles traveling from Rawal Dam Chowk toward Taramari will be diverted via NIH Road, passing through Mohra Noor before rejoining Park Road. Meanwhile, commuters heading from Taramari toward Rawal Dam Chowk will be routed through Chai Khana, CDA Nursery, and temporary roads alongside the iron grill to merge back onto Park Road.
To reduce pressure near the construction site, Islamabad Police have advised motorists to use Lehtrar Road, Khanna Pul, and the Islamabad Expressway as alternative routes. Authorities warned that Park Road is expected to face heavy traffic flow throughout the construction period.
Traffic police personnel will remain deployed to manage traffic and assist commuters. Citizens have been urged to allow an extra 20 to 30 minutes for travel and stay informed about route changes. For real-time updates or assistance, motorists can contact the traffic helpline 1915 or emergency number 15.
The Margalla Enclave underpass project is part of Islamabad’s broader infrastructure development aimed at improving traffic flow in the southern sectors of the capital. Temporary disruptions are expected until construction work is completed.
