Islamabad & Rawalpindi Electricity Shutdown Announced by IESCO

The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has announced a scheduled electricity suspension on Sunday across multiple sectors of Islamabad and Rawalpindi due to essential maintenance and development work. Consumers are advised to plan accordingly as power disruptions are expected at different timings across the city.

IESCO confirmed that areas under the Rawalpindi Cantt Circle, including Rawalpindi-III, VIP, and Hamyoun Road feeders, will experience a shutdown from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Similarly, several key locations under the GSO Circle, including F-6/2, PM Secretariat, Blue Area, and Quaid-e-Azam University, will also face outages during the same hours.

Power will also be disrupted from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in areas connected to feeders such as Jahangir Road, MSF, Rahimabad, Khanna Road, CNC, and Gulistan Colony. Shorter shutdowns from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon will affect sectors like Chaklala Garrison, Benazir Bhutto, Makkah Chowk, and Humayun Road. Additionally, some industrial and residential areas connected to G Block, N Block, Small Industries, and Model Town feeders will experience outages from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

An IESCO spokesperson stated, “We apologize for the inconvenience caused to our consumers. Our teams are working to complete the maintenance as efficiently as possible, and power may be restored earlier than scheduled if the work finishes ahead of time.”

Scheduled power suspensions are part of IESCO’s routine maintenance and development plans aimed at improving electricity supply reliability. These planned outages help prevent unplanned breakdowns and ensure better service for all consumers in the long term.

Residents are urged to stay updated via IESCO’s official channels and to take necessary precautions to minimize the impact of the power suspension on daily activities.
