The Government of Azerbaijan has officially recognised Pakistan’s Federal Minister of IT & Telecom, Shaza Fatima Khawaja. She will receive an important international award. Officials will present Shaza Fatima with the Medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan for “Effective cooperation with ASAN service”. This historic presentation will take place during the very first UN Governance Innovation Summit in Baku.
Azerbaijan is honouring the IT Minister Shaza Fatima with the Medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan for her intense focus on building robust digital infrastructure. This infrastructure actively supports national digital transformation. Furthermore, it significantly advances the digital economy.
However, her most notable achievement stands out clearly. She successfully oversaw the establishment of the Asan Khidmat Center in Pakistan. Impressively, she completed this major project in a record time period of just 90 days.
The envisaged conferral of this medal specifically recognises her valuable contributions. She actively developed and strengthened cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Consequently, both nations enhanced their collaboration in the field of public service delivery.
Additionally, the award highlights her direct involvement in implementing the “PAK” initiative. She also played a crucial role in the further advancement of this specific program.
The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan formally established this medal pursuant to the law on December 20, 2022. The state awards it to individuals who demonstrate effective cooperation. Moreover, recipients must show active participation in preparing and implementing significant projects.
These projects fall strictly within the areas of activity of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Finally, the award also honours representatives of both Azerbaijani and foreign institutions. These specific representatives must make a special contribution to the advancement of cooperation in these designated areas.
