Japan And Pakistan Partner For Digital Transformation And Youth Empowerment

In a pivotal meeting, Japan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Akamatsu Shuitsi, met with Federal Minister for Information Technology, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in the fields of information technology, digital transformation, and innovation. Both sides highlighted their shared commitment to advancing Pakistan’s digital landscape in alignment with the Prime Minister’s vision for a “Digital Pakistan.”

During the discussions, the Federal Minister outlined the government’s efforts to promote digital growth and the adoption of emerging technologies, emphasizing the importance of digital transformation in Pakistan’s development. Japan’s experience in digital transformation was recognized as a valuable resource, with both nations agreeing to increase collaboration in technology and the digital economy.

A major focus of the meeting was human resource development, particularly in the areas of artificial intelligence (AI), education, and skills training. Both parties agreed on the importance of initiatives that would equip Pakistan’s youth with the necessary skills to thrive in the evolving digital economy. Federal Minister Khawaja and Ambassador Akamatsu also explored opportunities for joint educational programs, particularly in ICT, AI, and digital governance, to better prepare Pakistan’s workforce for the future.

Ambassador Akamatsu reassured Pakistan of Japan’s continued support in its efforts to bolster education and technology development, which will be critical for achieving the vision of a “Digital Pakistan.” Both leaders concluded the meeting on a positive note, reaffirming their commitment to fostering stronger bilateral ties and creating more opportunities for youth under the broader framework of digital transformation.
