KARACHI: Karachi’s Directorate General of Customs Valuation has updated the customs values for mobile phone LCD screens imported from China and Hong Kong.
The Directorate’s valuation ruling issued on Tuesday, No. 1979 of 2025, replaces Valuation Ruling No. 1576/2021, which was in effect since December 8, 2021. The customs values of these commodities have remained unchanged since 2021.

To reassess these values, an evaluation was conducted under Sections 25 and 25A of the Customs Act, of 1969. This process included an analysis of import data, current market trends, price differences, and customs valuations.
A meeting was held with key stakeholders to determine the revised customs values. During this session, a thorough hearing took place to consider their perspectives. Stakeholders were also asked to submit their claims along with the necessary import documentation for review.
Ninety (90) days’ worth of data was carefully recovered and examined in order to ascertain the relevant commodities’ customs values. There were a few references to stated values.
As a result, the transaction value of the specified products has been determined, and the Customs value for assessing duties and taxes on them is outlined below, as per the ruling.
