The Peoples Bus Service has expanded the route of its popular double-decker bus service, which will now operate between Malir Halt and Tower, significantly improving connectivity along one of the city’s busiest corridors.
The newly extended route became operational today, offering commuters a faster and more convenient travel option linking residential areas in Malir with Karachi’s central business district.
Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon directed authorities to complete preparations for the expansion and reiterated the provincial government’s commitment to modern public transport. He also confirmed that work on the Yellow Line BRT project is progressing and targeted for completion soon.
Officials say the route extension is part of broader efforts to modernize Karachi’s transit network and provide safe, affordable, and efficient commuting alternatives. The double-decker buses have become a visible symbol of the city’s public transport revival, attracting strong ridership since launch.
Transport planners note that linking Malir’s residential zones with Tower’s commercial hub will reduce travel time and ease pressure on overcrowded minibuses and private transport across the corridor.
