Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) is set to construct a new flyover on Nishtar Road at an estimated cost of Rs. 1 billion to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion in the city.
Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab announced the project during a press conference at the KMC Head Office. He said the groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for November 20, with construction expected to be completed within 100 days. The project will be funded through KMC’s own financial resources.
The flyover is part of Karachi’s wider infrastructure development programme, which includes road rehabilitation, traffic improvements and alternative routes across the city’s seven districts. Other ongoing projects include the Chakora Nullah Expressway and the rehabilitation of major roads. KMC expects the new flyover to help improve traffic movement on Nishtar Road.
