The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary Education Department has directed the reposting of teachers who were recruited on a Union Council basis to their respective Union Councils.
The directive applies to teachers appointed under the Union Council quota according to the recruitment policies and appointment rules in effect when they were hired. However, teachers whose current postings are covered by the provincial government’s Wedlock/Spouse Policy have been exempted.
The department has instructed all District Education Officers (DEOs), both male and female, to review the postings of teachers recruited under the Union Council quota and complete their reposting accordingly.
District education authorities have been given 15 days to complete the process and submit detailed compliance reports to the Elementary and Secondary Education Department.
The directive was issued by the Section Officer for Primary Male and Female through letter No. SO(PE-M)/E&SE/2-1/Transfer-Posting/CM Directives/UCs & District Cadre/KP/2024.
Copies of the directive have been shared with relevant senior officials and offices, including the Accountant General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chief Minister’s Office, Chief Secretary’s Office, Director of EMIS, and senior officials of the Education Department.
The Director of EMIS has also been instructed to upload the circular on the department’s website to ensure that district authorities and other stakeholders are informed.
The move is intended to align teacher postings with the Union Council-based recruitment framework while maintaining exemptions for employees covered under the government’s spouse policy.
