Shops, businesses, and markets in Lahore have been granted a relaxation in operating hours, with the new arrangement set to remain in effect until 1 June 2026.
Deputy Commissioner Lahore, Captain (Retired) Muhammad Ali Aijaz, announced that commercial centres across the city will no longer be required to close their doors at 8pm each evening.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that the primary aim of this decision is to provide meaningful relief to the business community, allowing traders greater flexibility during their daily working hours.
Captain (Retired) Muhammad Ali Aijaz added that the relaxation is expected to further stimulate economic activity across Lahore, helping businesses to operate more freely throughout the extended trading period.
The measure is also intended to make the shopping experience easier and more convenient for citizens, giving residents additional hours to visit markets and complete their purchases each day.
