LastPass compromised leaving several account credentials vulnerable

LastPass, a password management solution, had their data compromised. While account passwords are tucked away safe and sound under your “Master Password”, the company is still recommending users to change their Master Password as soon as possible.

The urgency arises even more so if you have a weak password or use the same master password for other digital identities. LastPass has confirmed that all the passwords stored behind your master password are as safe as can be. All the data behind that is heavily encrypted and protected by sophisticated ciphers. Users with weak master passwords, however, will be the most vulnerable.

Last Pass also recommended users for multi-factor authentication on LastPass and other digital identities where possible such as Gmail, Facebook, Hotmail etc. You can visit the company’s Blog Post to know more about the hack and related security issues.
