Lenovo Showcases Dual-Screen Foldable Laptop and Solar Charging Model at MWC 2025

Lenovo has taken center stage at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, unveiling two revolutionary laptops that promise to reshape the landscape of portable computing: the ThinkBook Flip, a cutting-edge foldable screen laptop, and the Yoga Solar PC, an innovative device that harnesses solar energy for charging.
The ThinkBook Flip is equipped with an 18-inch display that can be folded to provide users with unparalleled computing flexibility. The design of the laptop allows for the creation of display panels that are visible on both sides by folding horizontally.
ThinkBook Flip Key Features
- Full-Screen Mode: When fully unfurled, the ThinkBook Flip transforms into a large-screen laptop, thereby enhancing its performance for both work and entertainment.
- Tablet Mode: Tablet Mode enables users to transform this device into a tablet format, which improves mobility and usability when working remotely.
Yoga Solar PC
Lenovo introduced the Yoga Solar PC as a component of their product line, which features solar panels integrated into its lid. The model combines the portable, lightweight characteristics that characterize the Yoga family products with energy efficiency features.
Solar Charging Mechanism
- Efficiency: Through the precise positioning of grid lines, the Yoga Solar PC achieves a 24% solar power conversion efficiency by directing sunlight toward their solar cells.
- Power Generation: The solar panel can accumulate approximately 7Vin ambient light and up to 12V in direct sunlight, allowing for efficient energy harvesting.
- Lightweight Design: The solar-enabled laptop is equivalent to conventional ultrabooks in terms of weight, as it weighs 1.1 kg.
Lenovo advertises that solar power generated by direct sunlight generates approximately one hour of video playback for each 20 minutes of exposure. The battery endurance of individuals who work in bright conditions can be significantly increased by the portable solar energy technology, despite minor variations in real-world use. The purpose of solar charging is to supplement conventional charging processes, rather than to serve as a complete replacement.
Lenovo’s unveiling of the ThinkBook Flip and Yoga Solar PC at MWC 2025 marks a significant milestone in the evolution of portable computing. The technology community follows further progress while hoping these ground-breaking devices will move from prototype to market availability to establish new product norms.
