Marvel Rivals 1st Anniversary Update’s Full Patch Notes Released
Marvel Rivals is officially one year old. To celebrate this milestone, NetEase Games has released a massive anniversary update. The patch, Version 20251127, is live right now. Best of all, there was no server downtime. You can simply update your client and jump straight into the action.

Marvel Rivals New Mode: 18v18 Annihilation
The biggest gameplay addition is sheer chaos. The update introduces a new mode called 18v18 Annihilation. This domination-style showdown puts 36 players on the field at once.
Alongside this massive mode, players can battle on a brand-new map, Grand Garden. This mode offers a fresh way to build teams and face off like never before.

Free Rewards: How to Get 2,500 Units
NetEase is generous with this celebration. Players can earn up to 2,500 Units during the event. However, keep an eye on your currency bar. Some units are “Limited-Time” and must be spent before the event ends.
Important Update (Nov 28):
Following player feedback, NetEase has adjusted the Rivals Assemble event mechanics. These changes are scheduled to be live before November 28 ends.
- Easier Progression: The Member Mission requirement to “Log in for 3 days” has been reduced to 2 days.
- Crew Cycling: Once you join a crew and complete all tasks, you will automatically leave that crew. You can then join a new crew to start a new round of tasks until you earn all rewards.

Here is the breakdown of how to grab your free currency:
- Log In Rewards: Simply log in to collect 1,500 Limited-Time Units.
- Rivals Assemble: Invite players (new or veteran) to earn 600 Units and the “Bright Future” emote. You do not need to team up for matches to unlock this.
- Times Square Countdown: Join the countdown event to snag 200 Units and the “Rivals’ Day 2025” title.
- Rivals Rewind (Phase 2): Starting December 4, share your player report to earn the final 200 Units.
New Skins & Events
A new event pass, “Jeff’s Break Time”, is now active. You can earn experience by playing matches to unlock tokens for a virtual vending machine.
- Free Reward: Jeff the Land Shark’s “Business Shark” costume.
- Premium Upgrades: Players who buy the pass (990 Lattice) can unlock Invisible Woman’s “Disappearing Dessert” and Mister Fantastic’s “Dad-tastic Reed” costumes.

Black Friday & Shop Updates
Since today is November 28, the Black Friday Blowout has officially begun. This is the game’s first Black Friday sale. You can score an initial 20% discount on items from Season 3 or earlier. Furthermore, eligible purchases earn you coupons. These coupons stack, offering bigger savings as you buy more.
Additionally, the Season 1 Battle Pass has made a limited-time return. If you missed the “Darkhold” pass previously, you can purchase it now via the “Nexus” in the Battle Pass interface.
New bundles are also available in the shop starting today:
- Venom: Gummy Surprise Bundle
- Blade: Restful Recovery Bundle
Marvel Rivals Key Hero Fixes
The update also polished the gameplay experience. Here are the most notable fixes:
- Peni Parker: Speed boosts for her “Ultimate” and “Armored Spider-Nests” are restored. Also, “Arachno-Mines” no longer disappear when placed on walls.
- Gambit: The “Healing Hearts” deck now selects targets correctly.
- Mister Fantastic: Fixed a bug where his arms wouldn’t retract after using “Distended Grip”.
- Cloak & Dagger: Fixed an issue where they became unmovable during their “Ultimate”.
- Jeff the Land Shark: Addressed a glitch where Jeff would slide off walls unexpectedly during “Hide and Seek”.
Phase 2 of the anniversary festivities kicks off next week on December 4, bringing even more content.
