After weeks of speculation, Marvel Rivals has officially revealed its Season 5 Battle Pass, Grand Garden Adventure. The new season begins November 14, 2025, introducing Gambit, a new map, multiple gameplay improvements, and ten all-new hero skins.
NetEase Games announced the details through an official update, confirming that Season 5’s story will follow Gambit and Rogue on a “honeymoon full of surprises” in a cosmic paradise crafted by the Elders of the Universe.
Season 5 brings Gambit as the newest playable hero. He will debut as a Strategist, a surprise to many fans who expected him to be a Duelist. Rogue will join later in December’s mid-season update.
Alongside the heroes, a new Times Square map has been added. Unlike traditional battle arenas, this map serves as a non-combat social hub where players can hang out and interact.
The update also adds two new storylines:
The Grand Garden Adventure Battle Pass will feature 10 new hero skins, each showcasing a unique design. These include:
Each cosmetic offers its own creative flair. Scarlet Witch takes on her classic look, while The Punisher’s skin fits perfectly into the game’s zombie mode aesthetic. Namor channels a pirate captain vibe, and Groot wears the classic blue and red Guardians of the Galaxy outfit.
One standout is Ultron’s new skin, which depicts the villain wielding all six Infinity Stones, a detail that has quickly captured fan attention.
Players can unlock both paid and free skins, following the same structure as previous seasons.
Season 5 also introduces a range of events and system changes. The Elders’ Chessboard event will let players complete missions to earn a free Spider-Man: Iron Spider costume.
Ranked mode receives major updates as well. Players will now complete ten placement matches each season, with team-size restrictions based on rank tiers. For instance, Bronze to Grandmaster players can queue in any group except a full five-stack, while Celestial and above tiers are limited to solo or duo queues.
The Season 5.0 Gold-tier reward is the Gambit: Sacrificial Pawn costume.
The new season brings fresh in-store bundles, including:
NetEase has also improved player interaction. Players can now perform interactive emotes together, and home backgrounds can be set to rotate randomly.
Cross-progression and Discord integration have been expanded. Xbox users now have cross-platform chat and Discord linking, with an option to hide unlinked Discord friends.
Performance-wise, all platforms received CPU and rendering optimisations. PC users get support for Intel XeSS Frame Generation on non-Intel GPUs, plus enhanced performance diagnostics. Console players benefit from smaller client sizes and faster load times.
Several hero bugs were also fixed, including issues with Peni Parker’s Venom Vision, Queen of the Dead’s overlapping shields, and Ultron’s ultimate ability effects.
Twitch Drops for Season 5 will run from November 14 at 12:00 UTC/17:00 PKT to December 12 at 09:00 UTC/14:00 PKT. Rewards include the Phoenix: Will of Galacta costume and bundle.
Meanwhile, a Gallery Card leak has hinted that Deadpool and Elsa Bloodstone could appear in Season 6, expected to arrive in early 2026.
With Gambit’s arrival, Rogue’s upcoming debut, and a stacked Battle Pass lineup, Season 5 marks one of the biggest content drops in Marvel Rivals so far. The new social map, revamped ranking system, and technical improvements make this update a promising step forward as the game continues expanding its Marvel universe.
