Marvel Rivals Unleashes Chaotic 18v18 Annihilation Mode
NetEase Games officially launched the highly anticipated 18v18 “Annihilation” game mode for Marvel Rivals today. This massive update arrives alongside the game’s Anniversary Celebration, bringing chaotic gameplay and generous rewards to the player base.
A Chaotic New Battlefield
The new “Annihilation” mode features a staggering 36 players facing off on a brand-new map, Grand Garden. NetEase Games designed this map specifically for the mode. Consequently, it is significantly larger than standard maps to accommodate the sheer number of heroes.
A recent trailer offered a glimpse into the chaos. Notably, it showed Scarlet Witch battling multiple Jeff the Land Sharks simultaneously. This detail suggests that players might be able to choose duplicate heroes, though NetEase has not officially confirmed specific rules or restrictions yet. Regardless, fans can jump in and experience the 18v18 mayhem starting today, November 27.

Marvel Rivals Anniversary Celebration & Freebies
In addition to the new mode, Marvel Rivals is celebrating a successful first year on the market. To thank the community, NetEase Games is gifting players 2,400 Units. You can use this currency to purchase shop skins and cosmetic bundles. However, note that these Units cannot purchase the Season 5 battle pass.
Furthermore, the shop now features a new Legendary skin for Jeff the Land Shark. This cosmetic gives the mascot a business makeover, complete with a suit and tie. Players can also expect more anniversary skins to arrive in the coming weeks.

Season 5 Updates & Future Rumours
Season 5 has already surprised fans by adding Gambit to the roster as a “Strategist” rather than a “Duelist”. Additionally, the popular X-Men character Rogue will join the game during the mid-season update in December.
Looking ahead, leaks suggest exciting content for Season 6 in early 2026. Rumours point to the addition of Deadpool and Elsa Bloodstone, with fans speculating Elsa might fill a “Vanguard” role. While players await these updates, they can currently enjoy the new “Annihilation” mode and the lingering success of recent PvE experiments like the Marvel Zombies crossover.
