Insomniac’s highly anticipated exclusive, Marvel’s Wolverine, may arrive sooner than we thought. Sony officially confirmed a “Fall 2026” release window during the September 2025 State of Play. However, a new listing on the Latin American PlayStation Store suggests a specific month.
The store lists the game for a Q3 2026 release. This differs from the North American store, which still displays the generic “Fall 2026” placeholder.
Here is where the math gets interesting. Q3 covers July through September. The official “Fall” window typically starts in September. Therefore, the only overlap between the official announcement and this new leak is September 2026.
This aligns perfectly with Insomniac’s history. The studio released the original Marvel’s Spider-Man on September 7, 2018. While Miles Morales launched in November and Spider-Man 2 in October, a return to September seems likely for Logan’s solo outing.
A September launch makes strategic sense. The industry faces a massive hurdle in late 2026 in the shape of Grand Theft Auto VI. Rockstar plans to launch the blockbuster on November 19.
Consequently, publishers want to distance their titles from the GTA VI hype cycle. Releasing Wolverine in September gives Sony a comfortable buffer before Rockstar dominates the holiday season.
Other confirmed releases for September 2026 include Halloween: The Game and Phantom Blade 0. Since these titles target different genres, horror and action RPG, respectively, they pose little threat to Wolverine’s sales.
The game promises a visceral action experience. Players will control the iconic X-Men mutant, battling foes like Omega Red and Mystique. The story takes Logan across the Canadian wilderness and into the crime-ridden streets of Madripoor.
Recent teases also suggest cameos from heavy hitters like Daredevil, She-Hulk, and Jean Grey. If this leak holds true, we only have a few months left before the claws are popped.
