Fans eagerly await the release of Halo: Campaign Evolved. Now, a massive leak points to a summer launch. The full remake of the 2001 classic might arrive much sooner than expected. Xbox first announced the game in October 2025 at the Halo World Championships. The upcoming release brings modern upgrades to the original story.
The Leaked July Release Dates
Reliable insider grunt.api recently shared cryptic math formulas on Twitter. Fans quickly decoded the post. Consequently, the leak points to an Official Release on July 28, 2026. Furthermore, players will get a five-day Early Access period starting July 23, 2026. While Xbox Game Studios has not confirmed these dates, the rumor heavily aligns with recent industry reports.

Halo: Campaign Evolved is “Content Complete” with New Additions
Less than a week ago, another insider, RebsGaming, claimed the game is already “content complete”. Therefore, the entire campaign is fully playable right now in its current build. Players will experience 4K visuals, fresh motion capture, additional voiced dialogue, and a larger weapon arsenal.

Additionally, the game features three brand-new prequel missions. These exclusive levels focus on Master Chief and Avery Johnson. Consequently, players will experience the early days of tension with the Covenant.
Halo Studios currently leads the development. However, multiple teams actively support the project. Abstraction Games provides co-development support. Previously, Abstraction worked on major titles like Baldur’s Gate 3, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, and Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
Debunking the Fanta Shadow-Drop Theory
This July release leak breaks a popular fan theory. Previously, fans expected a surprise “shadow-drop” launch in June directly following the Xbox Games Showcase. An upcoming Xbox and Fanta partnership fueled this theory. Fans believed Fanta bottles would feature QR codes for instant in-game rewards at launch. Ultimately, a scheduled late-July early access period completely ruins the element of a June surprise.
