MediaTek Unveils Dimensity 9400 Plus: A Major Leap in Connectivity, AI, and Performance

MediaTek has once again raised the bar with the launch of its Dimensity 9400 Plus, the latest flagship mobile processor designed to enhance the performance of Android smartphones. The new chip builds on the success of its predecessor, the Dimensity 9400, but comes with several key improvements that promise to redefine the user experience.

At the heart of the Dimensity 9400 Plus is the upgraded Arm Cortex-X925 core, now clocked at 3.73GHz, delivering smoother performance for demanding Android UIs. While the overall CPU configuration remains largely the same, this modest boost in clock speed, paired with MediaTek’s 12-core Immortalis G925 GPU, offers an impressive 41% faster graphics processing. This makes the chip ideal for high-performance gaming, with ray tracing and opacity micromaps, as well as a new frame rate converter for optimal efficiency.

One of the most exciting advancements is the enhanced AI capabilities. The Dimensity 9400 Plus’s MediaTek NPU 890 features 20% faster AI processing, supporting more sophisticated on-device applications. This chip also brings improvements in battery life and device efficiency by optimizing the use of low-voltage batteries and enhancing connectivity with a 10km Bluetooth range, a significant upgrade from its predecessor’s 1.5km range.

Improved Camera Features and Satellite Support

The chipset also includes support for BeiDou satellite positioning, providing 33% faster Time-to-First-Fix (TTFF), and is equipped with the latest Wi-Fi 7 tri-band concurrency for seamless connectivity. MediaTek’s proprietary Imagiq 1090 ISP ensures HDR video recording, even across all zoom ranges, and enables precise focus on moving subjects.

With the first devices featuring the Dimensity 9400 Plus expected to hit the market later this month, including the Oppo Find X8s and Vivo X200s, this chip promises to deliver a premium, future-proof experience for smartphone users.
