Mobile internet services in Quetta were temporarily suspended on Wednesday following security concerns, with officials confirming restoration will occur once conditions return to normal.
Assistant to the Interior Government of Balochistan, Babar Yousafzai, stated mobile internet was halted for several hours due to specific threats identified within Quetta city.
He emphasized public safety remains the foremost priority, explaining the suspension was implemented to safeguard lives and property against potential risks highlighted by security agencies.
Yousafzai expressed regret over temporary inconvenience, acknowledging difficulties caused, while stressing the administration values public cooperation during precautionary measures taken to ensure overall community protection.
He confirmed that mobile internet services would be fully restored as soon as the situation returned to normal and conditions were deemed sufficiently safe.
The adviser urged Quetta residents to avoid spreading or believing rumours, asking the public to rely exclusively on official government sources for accurate and verified information.
